The word 'Love' is understood differently by different people. To a mother it is a warm ,kind feeling for her children. To lovers it is a personification of cupid.  To children it is a strong affection for their parents. To some individuals they may be fond of or find pleasure in adventure and so we can say that they love adventure. What does  the word 'Love' mean to you? We shall see a few incidents which describe "love".

One day a rich man was travelling from one town to another on his horse on business. On the way he met a band of bandits. They beat him up and stole his money and belongings. He was left badly wounded and bleeding. Later that morning a  traveller  passed by that way, saw him bleeding and did nothing about it.  The second traveller came by saw him and felt sorry for him but did nothing for this man. About noon a third traveller came by. saw him and showed his concern by alighting from the horse wiped his wounds and mounted him upon his horse and took him to a hospital for treatment. Which traveller showed love for the wounded man? This is love from a neighbour.

A prisoner was released from prison after being imprisoned for 14 years for a crime he had committed. He contacted his mother and told her that he had been released from prison and was boarding the train to return home. He also told her that if she was not ashamed of him and she had forgiven him she should tie big red ribbons on the branches of the tree that was in front of the house which would indicate that she had forgiven him and was welcome home. So when the train approached the station where he was to alight, being afraid of the scene he might have to see, he asked his co-passenger to see if there were red ribbons tied on the tree's branches. 'Yes, I can see red ribbons on the tree, many red ribbons.' So the prisoner knew that he was forgiven and his mother was waiting to receive him. Is this real love? This is a mother's love.

A series of "I love you" signs mysteriously appeared in the town of Welland, Ontario. A local reporter Maryanne Firth decided to investigate.  Her sleuthing turned up for nothing.  Weeks later, new signs appeared featuring the name of  a local park along with a date and time. Accompanied by a crowd of curious a towns people, Firth went to the park at the appointed time,  There, she met a man wearing a suit who had cleverly concealed his face.Imagine her surprise when he handed her a bouquet and proposed marriage! The Ryan St.Denis - her boy friend.  She happily accepted. St.Denis's expression of love toward his fiancee may seem a bit over -the- top, but God's expression of love for us is nothing short of extravagant! Jesus is not merely a token of love, like a rose passed from one person to another. He is the divine human who willingly gave up His life so that anyone who believes in Him for salvation can have an everlasting covenant relationship with God. This type of  love never fails. This is God's love.

Love endures long and is patient. It is never envious nor boastful.    It is not inflated with pride. It does not rejoice at injustice  and unrighteousness. It bears all things. It is ready to believe the best of everything. It is not self-seeking.  Love never fails.

This divine human who willingly gave up His life promised to those who had entered into an everlasting covenant  that He would come back to take them to the place of His abode, heaven. His love goes on and on. HIS LOVE  HAS NEVER FAILED  AND WILL NEVER FAIL!!!
